Did finally make it to AK. The transmission issue was frustrating.
Be sure to tell Alex that in spite of what he has heard there have
been several occurrences like this one in cold climates with both FEs
and FGs. The place that serviced my vehicle knew of two other brand
new Fusos that had busted this particular part in the transfer case
assembly. A good precaution would be to let people know to put a
lighter oil (perhaps a 30 weight--or a straight synthetic) into the
transmission if they plan to take the vehicle into conditions below
10 degrees F.

Anyway, what's done is done, and the truck is otherwise performing
quite well. I have been able to get that baby into places I would
never be able to go with any other vehicle that size. I'll keep you
all posted on various jobs and adventures I get involved in.

Also, if you could have Alex give me a call, I'd like to order two
oil filters and two fuel filters.
